Quelqu’un m’a dit

If you go to Carla Bruni’s website, the first thing you will notice after the guitar and the butterflies is that she offers her site in five languages: français, english, deutsche, español and italiano. Pretty cool, if you ask me.

As I write this, I am listening to “Quelqu’un m’a dit” by Carla Bruni, aka former model aka singer and songwriter aka the First Lady of France. Oh la la. I fell in love with this song sometime last year and soon thereafter began downloading any and all Carla Bruni songs that I could find. Good music accompanied with a beautiful french voice is absolutely pleasurable to the ear. Bruni’s voice is sweet and pure, yet worldly and poignant. Her melodies are pretty and almost addicting. Calming, too. Great for winding down at night or relaxing in the bathtub. Why don’t you light a few candles and try it for yourself?

If you’re feeling curious, visit carlabruni.com I also highly recommend reading the Vanity Fair piece in which Bruni reveals that although her legal father is classical composer Alberto Bruni Tedeschi, her biological father is an Italian, naturalized Brazilian grocery magnate Maurizio Remmert, who, as a young classical guitarist, had a six-year affair with her mother, Italian concert pianist Marisa Borini.
