Giovanna’s apple dress, a festive reflection of autumn in the Pacific Northwest, is one of the many extra-spunky pieces in her wardrobe passed on to us by God-only-knows-who. Many of her best outfits came to us this way. Hand-me downs. Thrift stores. Consignment shops. Garage sales. The true vintage for baby.
The rain red boots, on the other hand, we bought brand new last winter. Although she wore them just fine last season, they were slightly too big. So we will enjoy these shiny shoes again as the weather cools off.
These are the kind of boots that attract people and smiles, reminding me that fashion is art. It makes us feel good, reminding us to appreciate color, and of course, the little things.
