tea with friends

The thing about friends, what makes the bond of true friendship so special, is that they are completely voluntary. Whereas we are bound to our families by blood, we have no concrete obligation to friends. We meet for a cup of tea or a walk because we want to. We love our friends because we do.

When a friendship spans decades, it becomes that much more unique. Below is a picture of Cheryl, one of my mother’s oldest friends, with her Herbal Philosophy Teas gift set. She says that when she looks at Cheryl, even after all these years and as they pass through middle age, she still sees a ten-year old girl.

Friends are the family we get to choose. Show yours some love today.
