Winter can be a hard season in the Northwest. The days are short, the nights are long. The trees are bare, the skies are cold and gray.
But there is also something special about the winter. The quiet, frosty mornings and the festive evenings filled with cheer. There is a pattern to the clouds, a starkness to the landscape, a serenity contained in winter that no other season can touch.
When spring finally breaks through, I will be ready. But until then, I will remain awestruck by the winter skies.
