francesca’s collections style off + steppin’ out saturday

EDIT: Please vote in the style-off here

First, I saw the top in this Dear Baby post by Melissa. I pinned it on my Style Files board. A few days later, Melissa announced a contest on her blog. A contest that requires the contestant to buy the exact top from Francesca’s Collections that I pinned (at 30% off), and then wear it. Style it. Have fun with it. Make it your own. And lastly, share it.

Of course, I couldn’t resist. I’m not a style blogger, but sometimes, I wish I was. Because I’ve been fascinated/obsessed/enamored by clothing since I could dress myself. I don’t post outfits on my blog because, as stated in this post about self-portraits, I am hesitant to take pictures of myself.

But I am learning how to live a life with intention, and I intend to become more confident. I also intend to make some changes on this blog. Changes that are yet to be determined, but could possibly include mores style posts. Taking a step in the right direction (action!), I’m going to link up today with Harper’s Happenings’ Steppin’ Out Saturday. Today is Saturday, and this is how I’m steppin’ out. Giovanna has her helmet on and she’s standing by the door begging to GO, so here I go…

Happy weekending.

    1. Hitha, you always know what to say to encourage me! Yes, this is my home, and yes, I would so love to do some home style posts. But I am hesitant because it’s not *done* yet. I got a little burnt out/cashed out on the decorating so I stopped. Thinking of starting up again, but this time starting in the thrift store. The room in the picture is our sun porch — something I’ve always wanted and now hardly use (it’s also usually really cold). I think I’ll go sit there now!! 🙂

    1. Don’t they look pretty on my sun porch? Did you know that I moved them myself? And I managed to fit them into my trunk/back seat. It was like playing tetris.

    1. Thank you!! These boots are like the fashion equivalent of my one true love. I can’t find anything that comes even close to them, yet they are at least 40 years old and probably not going to live forever…

  1. You are so lucky to have your grandma’s boots…and to have such a stylin’ grandma. I have a few of my grandmother’s beaded sweaters from the 50s/60s and i should funk ’em up and wear them more.

Agree with all those posting, you are beautiful. Every time I see you, I think: man, that girl has it goin’ on.

    1. Yes, you should! You can feel the energy from your grandmother’s clothing…it’s pretty rad. Thank you for the sweet compliment. The blogging community is often very conducive to self-love. We know how to lift one another up, don’t we?
