This quote gives me comfort. I am not the only one grappling with time on a daily basis. There’s so much I feel like I need to be doing. All the time. It’s overwhelming.
We’re living in a time of communication overload and information excess. How do you choose which blogs to read? How do you know which movies to watch? Which emails do you ignore and which do you respond to? Do you know what I mean?
I’m forging a new path. Less doing and accomplishing, more connecting and experiencing. I didn’t do every single thing on my list this past weekend, but I did go swimming with my kids and out to dinner with friends. I don’t tweet very often, but I do exercise. I don’t blog every day, but I am making progress on my manuscript. (Some days.)
I think this is what John Burrough is getting at: the days will always be too short, so choose your priorities wisely.
I absolutely know what you mean! I’m currently struggling with the which blogs do I read question..So many great blogs I don’t want to miss.
